From Talk to Action: 3 Real Takeaways from NAACOS 2025
By Nick Cassalia, VP of Sales, OptMyCare
NAACOS 2025 wasn’t just a gathering of healthcare leaders—it was a pulse check on where value-based care is heading. And if there’s one thing I took away from this year’s Spring Meeting, it’s this: the gap between insight and impact is where the real work is happening. At OptMyCare, we spend every day helping ACOs turn data into action. So it was encouraging to hear that the national conversation is shifting from theory to execution. Below are three big themes I heard over and over again—and why they matter right now.
1. AI isn’t theoretical anymore—it’s becoming a tool care teams actually use
At past conferences, artificial intelligence felt like something in the future. At NAACOS 2025, it felt like it had finally arrived. We’re past the “what is AI?” phase. Now it’s “how do we use it to solve real workflow problems?”
At OptMyCare, we’re using clinically engineered AI to flag rising-risk patients—the ones who haven’t yet become high utilizers but are headed there. That early detection lets ACOs move patients into care coordination or management before an avoidable hospitalization happens. And the most important part? Our insights aren’t just reports—they come with recommendations and integration into care team workflows. Because let’s face it: AI that doesn’t lead to action isn’t helping anyone.
2. Everyone has data. The challenge is knowing what to do with it.
One thing I kept hearing at NAACOS 2025 was that data access isn’t the problem anymore. ACOs have reports, dashboards, and predictive models—but many still struggle with making that information actionable. And for ACOs with smaller care coordination teams? That gap is even wider.
That’s why we’ve built OptMyCare to do more than just analyze. We deliver prioritized recommendations—what to do, who should do it, and when. From surfacing patients needing ACP to managing chronic care follow-ups, we make it easy for care teams to move from insight to impact, every day.
3. CMS is doubling down on VBC—with higher expectations
CMS’s presence at NAACOS 2025 sent a clear message: value-based care isn’t going anywhere, and the agency is now pushing for greater program integrity and measurable results. It’s no longer enough to be enrolled. ACOs need to show they’re using data, coordinating care, and delivering better outcomes.
That’s the part I find most exciting. With the right tools, providers can demonstrate improvement—through more targeted outreach, better documentation, and measurable interventions. We’re helping organizations do that right now, without adding more staff or creating more administrative burden.
The Bottom Line: NAACOS 2025 Was About Getting Real
It’s easy to walk out of a conference with ideas. But NAACOS 2025 made it clear that success in value-based care is going to come down to execution. If your ACO is looking to operationalize the insights you already have—or if you’re realizing that you’ve hit a wall with the tools you’re using—OptMyCare is ready to help. Let’s talk about how we can support your team with solutions that don’t just identify problems, but help you fix them.
